They were not able to take out the respirator today. His blood gas levels were too high. I got there too late to hear what the doctors decided during rounds so I'm not sure when they will try again. It'll probably be at least another 2-3 days. Every time I tried to get a picture, he would close his eyes before I got one. It took several attempts, but I finally got one. We try to keep it pretty dark for him especially if we want to see him with his eyes open! He was up to 1090 grams yesterday, but dropped to 1070 grams today.
